Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra (2026) review: Does Perfection have a Price? (-26€ Tip)

There are robot vacuums, and there is the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. If you've been following market developments in recent years, you know that Roborock has gradually stolen the spotlight from iRobot and Neato. With this “MaxV Ultra” version, the Chinese brand no longer only seeks to be the best: it wants to crush the competition with a demonstration of raw technological force. On one side, a technical sheet that makes you dizzy: 10,000 Pa of suction (a record), an articulated robotic arm for corners, an integrated voice assistant that does without Alexa, and a docking station that does absolutely everything except coffee. On the other, a price that flirts with the heights: €699 in standard price. But as always at ScanPricer, we don't just test the hardware. We track down the best price. And we found an anomaly: this technological gem is available for €673.31 on Amazon Spain (delivery included), an immediate saving compared to the French price. Is the price difference worth it? Is this robot really “autonomous” or will you have to rescue it every 5 minutes? After 4 weeks of forced cohabitation with a cat, two children and lots of crumbs, here is our complete and unfiltered verdict.

The ScanPricer opportunity

Currently, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra (Reference B0CRV7F37B) is listed at €649.00 on Amazon Spain. With shipping costs to France (€24.31), the total comes to €673.31, compared to €699.00 on Amazon France and Italy. This is the lowest price in Europe for this high-end model.

FlexiArm Design™: The End of Dirty Corners

This is the #1 frustration of robot vacuum owners: corners. Until now, round robots always left a small triangle of dust in the corners, or a 2cm strip along the plinths. Roborock solved this problem with a fascinating mechanical solution: the FlexiArm Design™.

How does it work?

As soon as the robot detects a corner or edge using its LiDAR sensors and cameras, a small side brush mounted on an articulated arm physically extends out of the chassis. It's almost organic to watch. It picks up dust where no other round robot could go, and brings it back to the central brush. Test result: We scattered flour and rice grains along the kitchen baseboards. The S8 MaxV Ultra recovered 98% of debris, compared to around 85% for the previous generation S8 Pro Ultra. It's not a gimmick, it's a real structural development.

A Power of 10,000 Pa: Is It Necessary?

For years, robots stagnated at 2500 - 5000 Pa. The jump to 10,000 Pa (HyperForce™) seems excessive. Do we really need that much power to vacuum up dust? On tiles or parquet, honestly, no. 4000 Pa is more than enough. But it is on rugs and carpets that the difference is brutal.

  • Thick Carpet Test: We embedded fine sand in a long pile carpet. Most robots remove the surface layer. The S8 MaxV Ultra extracted sand deeply on the first pass. We can hear the engine roar (the noise rises to 72dB, which remains acceptable), and the result is visible in the dust bin.
  • DuoRoller Riser™: The two counter-rotating rubber brushes are excellent for preventing hair tangling. If you have pets, it's a relief not to have to cut the hair with scissors every week.

VibraRise 3.0: “Sonic” Washing

The washing function has also been revised. We find VibraRise 3.0 technology. Concretely, the mop vibrates 4000 times per minute to scrub the floor, instead of simply stroking it like entry-level robots. The biggest advantage? The mop module raises 20 mm when it detects a carpet.

  • No need to define prohibited areas.
  • The robot vacuums the carpet without wetting it.
  • He takes the mop back down as soon as he returns to the tiles. It's smooth, automatic, and avoids wet carpet accidents. In addition, it has a small rotating side mop (on the right side) which rotates at 185 rpm to clean as close as possible to the walls, where the central main mop does not go. Wash coverage is almost complete.

“Hello Rocky”: Vocal Independence

This is a first for Roborock: the integrated voice assistant. No more need to go through Alexa, Google Home or Siri (even if it's still compatible). You can speak directly to the robot:

'Hello Rocky, clean the kitchen' 'Hello Rocky, empty the bin' 'Hello Rocky, lava here' (pointing to an area) Does it work? Yes, surprisingly well. Latency is almost zero because the processing is local. This is very practical when your hands are dirty while cooking and you want to quickly clean a specific area without taking out your phone. Reactive AI 2.0 and the Camera The RGB camera on the front is not only used to avoid obstacles (in fact, avoiding cables and socks is amazing). It also allows you to monitor your home. Via the application, you can take control of the robot remotely, pilot it like a drone, and see what is happening in your home. You can even start a video call to tell your dog to get off the couch (the robot broadcasts your voice). Gadget? Maybe. Reassuring? Certainly.

RockDock Ultra: The Station That Does It All

The robot is impressive, but it's its station, the RockDock Ultra, that makes the experience truly autonomous. It manages 8 functions:

  1. Automatic dust emptying (2.5L bag, lasts 7 weeks).
  2. Automatic filling of the robot's water tank.
  3. Wash the mop in hot water (60°C!). This is crucial for dissolving fats and preventing musty odors.
  4. Hot air drying of the mop and base.
  5. Intelligent dirt detection: If the mop wash water is very dirty, the station commands the robot to return to clean the area a second time ('Re-Wash' & 'Re-Mop').
  6. Automatic addition of detergent: There is a dedicated tank for the floor product, the station does the mixing alone.
  7. Self-cleaning the base of the station (to avoid accumulation of mud at the bottom).
  8. Fast charging (+30% vs S7). It's massive (real furniture in the living room), but that's the price of peace and quiet. You only touch the robot to empty the dirty water and put in clean water.

Price Comparison & European Arbitration

We scanned the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra on the various Amazon marketplaces to find the best deal.

Why is Spain cheaper?
Amazon Spain often applies more aggressive prices on Chinese high-tech products (Xiaomi, Roborock, Dreame) due to strong local demand and increased competition with platforms like AliExpress Plaza. Even with €24 shipping costs for France, the final price remains lower than the French public price.
Attention: Make sure that this is the Sold and Fulfilled by Amazon model (which is the case for our link) to benefit from the simplified Amazon warranty and after-sales service.

S8 MaxV Ultra vs S8 Pro Ultra vs Dreame L20

The choice is difficult at this price level. Here is how it is positioned:

Comparative Verdict:
The S8 MaxV Ultra crushes the S8 Pro Ultra on power, hygiene (hot water) and intelligence (camera, assistant). Compared to the Dreame L20 Ultra, the fight is tighter, but the Roborock application remains superior in ergonomics and stability. The Roborock is the “premium without compromise” choice.

Yes, the Roborock app is fully translated into French, as is the robot's voice ('Hello Rocky' can be configured to respond in French).

Our Final Verdict

4.9/ 5

The New King, Simply.

The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is a show of force. It corrects the rare flaws of its predecessors (corner cleaning, hot water) and adds a layer of artificial intelligence that makes it truly autonomous. Seeing your little arm unfold to get the dust under the fridge is a satisfaction that you never tire of. It’s a heavy investment, that’s undeniable. But at €673.31 via the Amazon Spain tip, you are simply buying the best robot vacuum cleaner in the world in 2026 at a price lower than that of the French market. If your budget allows it, look no further. It's him. We like:

  • The excessive power (10,000 Pa)
  • The awesome FlexiArm for corners
  • The totally autonomous station (hot water, drying, etc.)
  • The Roborock application, the absolute reference We like less:
  • The station is imposing
  • The price remains high (but justified)
